Hosted at the Farragut Church of Christ in Farragut, Tennessee, this FREE EVENT brings together talented Christian songwriters to share their heartfelt creations and the faith-filled journeys that inspired them.

Meet The Songwriters

Kevin Mahoney: Kevin Mahoney is a powerful singer and songwriter gifted with the rare ability to speak to the soul with his expressive and poignant lyrics.

With a career spanning 20 years, the versatility of
his music touches genres of folk, rock, soul, folk funk and somehow all these still cannot define the spirit of his music. Festivals, Radio, TV & proud of the partnerships made with endorsements from pedal & pick companies helping to round out his talents while enhancing his welcoming & supportive nature to all he comes in contact with.

He has created his own style and reputation as a mesmerizing live performer and stands in his own light. A unique talent driven by passion, social awareness and love for his trade, his music manages to empower and speak for the many. He’s a jaw dropping guitar player who has developed a unique percussive style, teamed up with a powerful show stopping voice.

Concerned with making music that is relevant and vital to his audience, he engages with challenging narratives tackling the complexity of the human condition underpinned with a promise of hope.

There is a versatility to Kevin’s music that is hard to categorize. Many have tried, resulting in labels such as Folk, Rock, Soul, Folk Funk and Americana; all of which somehow miss the mark. But sometimes music doesn’t need a defining genre and with the ability to articulate a sense of the bigger picture,

Kevin’s music and social commentary manage to empower and speak for many. His songs are pictures, and stories, and feelings all put to music and delivered by a master craftsman.

He is a tireless performer & supporter of things good due to his belief in we make a small difference out of great love and commitment by challenging injustice wherever it’s found, educating via advocacy, campaigning for human rights, and raising issues that have been forgotten or ignored via fundraising initiatives, thus bringing about greater awareness for beautiful people in powerless situations

Kevin Mahoney. A unique talent driven by passion and love for his trade, continues to write, sing and play from the heart. It’s a road he’s been travelling for most of his life and, as he often tells his audience, ‘you keep turning up and so will I.’

Candace Sutter: Candace’s passion for music and faith comes alive in every song she writes and performs. she has a careful attention to detail in her music for worship and in all her compositions. She brings a sense of peace and reflection to her music with her Christmas Meditation Aria, a beautiful collection of traditional hymns for piano and voice, and in her Reflective Moments collection of piano solos, which showcases her gift for creating music that soothes the soul.

Through every note and lyric, Candace’s mission remains clear—to share God’s love and message through the power of music.

Rodney Overton: Rodney Overton is a Christian acoustic singer-songwriter from Winfield, Tennessee. Rooted in country and Appalachian storytelling, his original songs draw on his own journey through wandering, recovery, and faith. He writes about grace, redemption, and the hope that no one is too far gone to find their way home.

A longtime songwriter, Rodney now devotes his music to sharing his testimony and the message of Christ. He has shared original songs in churches, at youth gatherings, recovery events, and songwriter sessions. Songs such as “House on the Sand,” “Heaven Sent,” and “Light of Grace” reflect his love for honest stories that meet people where they are.

Rodney performs with one acoustic guitar and a voice shaped by the stories he sings. Whether a song is quiet and reflective or raw and urgent, his hope is that listeners hear something of their own story in it—and leave with a little more hope than they came with.

HOST: Troy Stavros (performing as Troy Cross) is an East Tennessee Roots Country artist and songwriter whose timeless acoustic style turns everyday struggles into songs of hard-won hope. Blending Country, Americana, Bluegrass, and Gospel influences, Troy crafts story-first music that feels deeply lived-in, honest, and grounded in his faith.

For Troy, music isn't just a career, it’s a calling. Rather than preaching, he uses vivid character-driven stories and authentic scenes to create a welcoming space for both lifelong believers and those still searching. Whether delivering a quiet ballad or an uplifting anthem, his songs aim to tell the truth with tenderness, offering dignity, encouragement, and a steady reminder that no one walks alone.

On stage and in the studio, Troy builds a bridge where faith meets Roots music and hope feels within reach. He is also the founder of The Genesis Sessions, an initiative created to give Christian songwriters a dedicated stage to share original songs of faith, hope, and love while fostering a tight-knit fellowship for artists and listeners alike.
